Hot Thermic oil is used as heating media. Air is heated by hot Thermic oil.
Due to high temperature of oil, heat transfer area required is less than
steam heater. Hence cost of Thermic oil air heater is less than that of steam
heater for same, heat load. Higher air temp. Can be obtained in these
heaters where as to obtaiv higher air temp. In steam heaters it requires high
steam pressure.
